Car Crash in Westport Claims 2 Lives

Two people were killed this past Tuesday from injuries they sustained in a two-car crash on Route 195 in Westport.

Emergency responders pronounced 75-year-old Khith Kheav dead at the crash site, due to severe injuries from the collision.  Kheav was from Fall River.

The driver of the second car was 61-year-old Constance Bancroft, who was flown via helicopter to a Rhode Island hospital.  Bancroft, a Somerset resident, succumbed to her injuries that same night.

The car accident occurred after 4:00pm Tuesday, when Kheav’s car is reported to have crossed the median on Route 195 into the oncoming lane of traffic.  Kheav then made impact with Bancroft’s car.

The highway was closed for a couple of hours following the accident.

State and local authorities are continuing their investigation of the fatal crash.
