Train Hits Pickup Truck in North Andover

Morning traffic was snarled for hours after a freight train struck a pickup truck on the tracks in North Andover, MA.


Police say the pickup truck was stalling at the Sutton Street rail crossing around 6 am this morning, reportedly due to lack of gas. The truck driver was able to get away from the vehicle as the train approached.

The truck sustained minor damage in the collision and was towed away by emergency crews. The train also sustained minor damage.

No injuries were reported.
