1 Arrested, 1 Still at Large in Methuen Car Crash

A police chase ending in a stolen car crash in Methuen, Mass. led to the arrest of one man and the ongoing search for another.

Police arrested Jeremy Rosado, 22, of Haverhill, and are still searching for Joseph Rodriguez, also of Haverhill, the Eagle Tribune reported.

Both men face charges, including car theft and failure to stop for police.

They also have several outstanding warrants for a previous crimes.

Yesterday's chase started in the morning on I-495 when they crashed their stolen car at the exit ramp to Route 213 West.

Rosado and Rodriguez fled from the wrecked vehicle, running across both lanes of 495, and through a marshy, wooded area before climbing over a chain-link fence and emerging from behind Building 1 of Colonial Village, located on Independence Drive in Methuen.

They were seen by a woman living in the building. She called the police, saying the two men were headed up Independence Drive toward Route 113.

Local police then launched a major search for the men, even including a State Police helicopter.

Another woman in a different naighbordhood spotted one man (Rosado) crouching behind some bushes. Police chased him down and arrested him.

Rosado sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment, but he will be transported to Haverhill to be booked and arraigned.

Police believe that Rodriguez is headed back toward Haverhill.
