1 Killed in 495 Crash in Middleborough

A fatal 2 vehicle crash happened on Route 495 in Middleborough on Friday which claimed the life of a 63-year-old Carver resident.

Lee J. Andrews, 63, who was driving a 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.


The accident, which occurred south of Exit 5 on 495, also involved a male and female from Connecticut in a 2010 Mercedes-Benz SUV who sustained serious injuries.

The woman, a passenger in the SUV, Barbara L. Bronzino, 69, of Simsbury CT, was airlifted by a medical helicopter to a hospital, while the driver, Joseph D. Bronzino, 72, also of Simsbury, was rushed by ambulance.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the pickup truck crossed the grass median and entered the southbound side of the highway, where it collided with the SUV.

The investigation continues.
