Are You Going Green?

We try not to use plastic bags at the grocery and we’re working on shutting lights off when we leave a room, but sometimes a greener way of life takes more practice than we think.

Unless you just buy a green car.

A news article out today highlighted an interesting consumer trend when it comes to Boston drivers and their choice of car color. The Ford Motor Company released the results of a national survey that they conducted on buyers’ color preferences for their new vehicles.

The Ford faithful of Massachusetts made Boston take home first prize for the most purchases of green cars. In the survey, it was found that “the East is distinctly green, with Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh and New York rounding out the top five in that color.”

The news story hints at Boston’s basketball pride or Irish heritage as possibilities why we would go green, but could the green lifestyle have influenced our preferences on a sedan-sized scale?
