Tom Brady in Car Crash

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was involved in a car accident in Boston on this morning, the Washington Post reported.

It is not yet clear whether Brady was injured in the 2-car crash which happened in the Back Bay area. According to WEEI-AM Radio, Brady was "shaken" and walked away from the scene heading for Gillette Stadium (see the WHDH video here).

The accident involved an Audi with New Jersey plates (believed to belong to Brady) and a Ford minivan.

According to the Boston Globe, police confirmed that one person was removed from a car via the jaws of life and taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

It was initially believed that Brady was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital, but it turned out that one person from the minivan was the one taken to that hospital.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Gloucester Street.

Witnesses reportedly said that Brady had a green light at the intersection and the minivan allegedly ran a red light. At that point, Brady's vehicle ran into the minivan. One vehicle sruck a pole.

Brady, who led his team to three NFL championships, is due to start in the Patriots' season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
