Eight people were injured on Route 28 in Milton during the rush hour yesterday morning when an MBTA bus and an SUV collided, police said.

According to a Boston Globe article, the MBTA bus was traveling north on Rt-28 (also known as Randolph Avenue) around 8:21 a.m. when it collided with a southbound Ford Escape passenger car making a left turn onto Chickatawbut Road.

The bus driver (operating a Route 240 MBTA bus) said that the driver of the Ford Escape cut in front of her, a Transit police report said. Police could not interview the driver who suffered neck and arm injuries, and was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston for treatment.

The injured bus passengers were taken to Milton Hospital and Quincy Hospital for treatment of neck, back and ankle injuries.
