Vermont Teen Killed in Fatal Bernardston Crash

Daniel Bliss, 17, of Brattleboro, Vermont was killed in a deadly accident Sunday afternoon in the western Massachusetts town of Bernardston. The Lowell Sun reports that Bliss was reportedly merging onto Route 10 South from Route 142 South around 2:00 p.m. that afternoon when he was hit by Nichole Trovato, 19, of West Townsend.

According to authorities, Trovato broadsided the Subaru Outback driven by Bliss with her SUV. Rita Corbin of Hinsdale, NH, was a passenger in the Subaru and was seriously injured in the collision. Corbin was rushed to a Worcester hospital for treatment, while Trovato and her four passengers were brought to a Brattleboro hospital for minor injuries and then released. Officials continue to investigate the crash, but solar glare has been cited as a potential contributing factor.
