Elderly Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Car in Boston

An unidentified elderly man, 74, was riding his bike yesterday morning a little after 8:00am when he was struck by a car at the intersection of Arlington Street and Tremont Street in Boston.  He died as a result of his injuries from the collision.

The driver involved in the crash has also not been named by police involved with the case and has not been cited or charged in the accident.  The windshield of the car was shattered and part of the front bumper came off.  It is not known at this time if the unknown bicyclist was wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.  It was reported that the glare from the sun may have been a factor in the accident and may have contributed to the driver not seeing the man on the bike.  Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
