3 Injured in Salem Truck Accident

Marco Carvaial faces charges of speeding, dangerous driving, and failing to stop at a stop sign when he crashed his Ford Mustang into a truck driven by Tony Coelho near the Salem High School yesterday afternoon.

The Salem News reports that Carvaial was leaving the high school’s parking lot at a high rate of speed when he lost control, went onto a sidewalk, and crashed into Coelho’s truck.

The serious crash sent Marco and his brother Alex to a Boston hospital. A second passenger, identified as Julie Matvichuck, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. All three were later released.

Coelho and his passenger in the truck did not sustain any injuries in the accident.

According to police, the air bags in the Mustang had deployed and there was a significant amount of front-end damage to the Mustang.
